The Terre di Fiume Company is the expression of the history of our territory, of the sensitivity of our family and of the deep tie with the land and its roots.<\/p>\n
Our father, Romeo, loved and cultivated, until he was 90 years old, a small vineyard that he called\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cmy land on the river\u201d. After, in the year 2000, we also\u00a0 <\/span>bought\u00a0 <\/span>an old vineyard\u00a0 <\/span>in Friano, on the gentle slopes south of Rimini near the Ancient Republic of San Marino.<\/p>\n Immediately we decided to develop and modernize the vineyard with non intrusive systems that respect nature, applying rigorous organic methods, annually checked by the Consorzio di Controllo dei Prodotti Biologici (CCPB). Organic for us means respect of the environment and of humanity.<\/p>\n The technique of organic cultivation foresees, above all, the elimination of chemical products like insecticides\u00a0 <\/span>and\u00a0 <\/span>herbicides, the exclusive use of sulfur and copper sulphate in\u00a0 <\/span>quantities inferior\u00a0 <\/span>to\u00a0 <\/span>those foreseen by the European legislation, the use of antagonistic fungi and \u201csexual confusion\u201d to control some insects.<\/p>\n Thanks to these techniques, our land is naturally enriched.<\/p>\n In springtime the vineyard is transformed into a garden: daffodils, poppies, borage, brooms and lavender are an explosion of color.<\/p>\n Pruning is done by hand,\u00a0 <\/span>programming the quantity of grapes per vine, just like the grape picking, is carried out at the most suitable time to preserve the product. We choose only the best bunches to make a limited annual production of bottles.<\/p>\n Our territory is an area that has\u00a0 <\/span>been highly\u00a0 <\/span>suitable\u00a0 <\/span>to the vine and to\u00a0 <\/span>wine since the times of the ancient Romans, throughout the Middle Ages, and up to the present day. A famous food and wine journalist has defined it \u201cThe Montalcino of Romagna\u201d<\/p>\n Our wines:<\/strong><\/p>\n Fafnir:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Sangiovese Superior Dop, was our father\u2019s nickname. But Fafnir is also the dragon of the\u00a0Saga of the Nibelungs, whose blood gives invulnerability.<\/p>\n Ferianus:<\/strong>\u00a0Rebola Dop, indigenous white wine,\u00a0 <\/span>is a tribute to the territory even in the choice of the Latin name of Friano.<\/p>\n Eutyches:<\/strong>\u00a0Sangiovese Rubicone Igp, means \u201c a good man and good luck\u201d, is the name of the famous surgeon of the Roman Domus of Rimini, defined by the New York Times as the eight Wonder of the World.<\/p>\n \n <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Terre di Fiume Company is the expression of the history of our territory, of the sensitivity of our family and of the deep tie with the land and its roots.
